VOSADINEL Began With a Question We Could Not Forget.
It did not begin with a business plan. It began with an experience.
In 2021, while living and working with our family in Crete, Greece, we experienced the earthquake that struck the island and saw what a disaster leaves behind when the immediate emergency is over.
That experience stayed with us - and eventually became the beginning of VOSADINEL.
WHERE IT BEGAN
The Morning Everything Changed.
Crete, Greece — September 27, 2021
On the morning of September 27, 2021, our family was living and working in Crete, Greece, when a magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck the island.
We ran outside, but the ground was moving with such force that we could not remain standing. We had to kneel on the ground and wait for the shaking to stop. It was a frightening experience — one that is difficult to understand until the ground beneath you, something you have always assumed to be solid and permanent, suddenly begins to tremble after a tremendous roar, and then starts moving with extraordinary force.
Inside our home and our restaurant, objects had fallen from shelves, furniture and belongings had been thrown around, and many things were broken. In our upstairs apartment, part of the wall of one of the rooms had opened up from the force of the earthquake.
But the earthquake did not simply end when the main shaking stopped.
Aftershocks continued to shake the area for days. The following day, September 28, another powerful magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck the region. Each new tremor brought back the uncertainty of the first morning — the feeling that the ground could begin moving again at any moment.
Through television and radio reports, we learned that the epicentral area was near the small town of Arkalochori, southeast of Heraklion and only about ten kilometres from where we were. The earthquake was very shallow, at a depth of approximately six kilometres, contributing to the severe damage in the surrounding area.
We also learned that a man had lost his life while working inside a local church when part of the structure collapsed. Dozens of people were injured, and thousands of buildings across the affected area were damaged.
For us, however, these were no longer simply numbers in a news report.
The disaster was happening around us.

THE QUESTION THAT REMAINED
What Happens After the Emergency Help Ends?
In the days and weeks that followed, help arrived. Emergency support, temporary shelter and donations helped communities through the immediate aftermath.
But one question stayed with us.
What happens when the emergency is no longer in the headlines — but families are still trying to rebuild their lives?
Traditional aid can provide essential relief when it is needed most. But much of that support is spent once and then disappears.
We began asking whether there could be another way.
What if a contribution could keep helping long after it was given?
What If Help Didn't Have to Be Spent Only Once?
Traditional aid is essential. But once the money has been spent, its financial power is gone.
We began to think about the problem differently.
What if a contribution could first create something that continues to generate value?
Instead of spending every contribution directly, it could help finance clean-energy assets. Those assets could generate electricity, electricity could generate recurring income, and that income could help rebuild homes and communities again and again.

Turning One Contribution Into Lasting Impact
The idea became the foundation of VOSADINEL: instead of allowing a contribution to create value only once, we could use it to help build assets capable of generating value for years.
Clean-energy assets can produce electricity. That electricity can generate recurring income. And that income can be directed toward rebuilding homes, restoring communities and helping families recover after disaster.
The contribution is made once. Its impact does not have to be.

A contribution helps create a productive clean-energy asset. That asset can continue generating income, allowing the same initial contribution to support humanitarian impact over time.
The difference is not the intention to help. It is what happens to the contribution after it is given.
THE BEGINNING OF VOSADINEL
An Idea Became a Missione
What began as a question after the earthquake in Crete gradually became something larger. We did not want simply to describe the problem. We wanted to find a way to change what happens after the immediate help ends.
The idea was simple in principle: create a system in which people’s contributions could help finance productive clean-energy assets, and dedicate the income generated by those assets to rebuilding homes and restoring communities after disasters.
That idea became VOSADINEL.
WHY VOSADINEL
A Name Built From the Meaning of Help
The name VOSADINEL was not invented first and given a meaning later. It grew directly from the sentence that expressed the idea behind the mission.

I voítheiá sas dínei néa elpída.
“Your help gives new hope.”
The name carries the mission within it. VOSADINEL is built from a sentence that says exactly what we believe help should do: give people new hope.

The Story Is Only the Beginning.
VOSADINEL began with an experience, a question and an idea. Now the goal is to turn that idea into a permanent system for helping communities rebuild after disaster.
The next chapter will not be written by us alone.
